With the new up and coming trend of glamping, Cork has jumped on the bandwagon and started offering awesome getaways throughout the region. And we all know Cork is the best place in Ireland to do this, right?!
Maybe you’ve never heard of them, or perhaps you’re eager to decide whether they live up to your expectations. Either way, these hidden gems in Cork offer exciting glamping pods and campsites fit for all kinds of travellers.
Spend a weekend at the seaside, embark on adventurous hiking trails or share your favourite tales around the campfire. I’ve shared my list of the top glamping sites found in the wondrous County of Cork.
Best Places to go Glamping in Cork
Forget about the stress of pitching your own tent and packing the car to the brim. Marvel at the beauty of Cork’s countryside and spend a night, weekend or week in one of these boutique glamping sites.
Mountain Forge Escape in West Cork
We want to give a quick shout out to the new kid in the block,”Mountain Forge Escape“, an incredible looking glamping spot down in West Cork that recently opened.
This spectacular campsite with a futuristic looking glamping tent on site is situated in the most picturesque location and along Ireland’s famous Wild Atlantic Way.

Glamping Pod Shanagarry, Ballycotton
These glamping pods manage to take even glamping to the next level. They come fitted with all the essentials you’d find in a quaint holiday house. Enjoy the perks of sleeping in a double bed (with a fold-out sofa for friends), having a warm evening shower and making use of the WiFi.
Along with a comfortable living space, the pod features a fully-kitted out kitchenette. Cook up a storm with a hob, microwave and fridge, and enjoy your favourite meals.
And when it comes to activities, the surrounding area will keep you on your toes. Boat tours to the nearby lighthouse are only a short walk away. The area also features some great bars and exciting places to rock out to some local music.
The pods are only a 25-minute drive away from Fota wildlife park, which is the leading wildlife, tourism and conservation attraction in Cork. Alternatively, a 35-minute drive will lead you straight into Cork city centre.

Inch Hideaway Eco-Glamping, East Cork
Embarking on a glamping staycation can also be done with a sustainable, eco-friendly approach. With the Inch Hideaway being only minutes away from Inch Beach and with views of Ballycotton Lighthouse nearby, you have plenty of opportunities for enjoying the outdoors and lose track of time in nature.
The eco-friendly glamping sites are complete with their own private garden, along with a shared BBQ area and outdoor pizza oven. And when the weather gets too cold for time outside, each of the sites is raised and heated with a wood-fire stove or electrical heater.
When you’re not making memories at the campsite, partake in one of the many outdoor adventures. If surfing is your thing, bring along your board and catch some waves. Otherwise, kayaking on the waters, quiet strolls along the beach and bike rides are fantastic excuses to spend all your time outside.

Glamping at Tig Lammax
Corcoran’s pod is a haven for friends looking for a sneaky getaway, or families keen on spending some quality time together. Each morning, be treated to a continental breakfast before heading out on a day of adventures!
The charming wooden pod is fitted with a double bed and double sofa bed. As well as an inflatable mattress and a single bed suited for kids 7 years and younger. There’s also an inside toilet and a wash-up basin. You’ll find the shower and laundry facilities in the separate outhouse.
Spend the day exploring Cork’s picturesque town, Macroom, which is where the camping grounds are situated. Here you’ll find the Gearagh, a glacier woodland and nature reserve. When the weather allows, spend the rest of the late afternoons relaxing out on the deck chairs listening to the sounds of nature. It’s also only a short drive from Gougane Barrs – one of our favourite place in all of Ireland!

The Botanical Bell Tent
Set in the western part of the county of Cork, the Botanical Bell Tent is a luxury private glamping experience perfectly fit for a couple. The beautifully furnished tent consists of a king-sized bed, along with woolly blankets, cosy flooring and indoor as well as outdoor seating.
The theme throughout the tent celebrates the beauty of nature. With earthy tones, botanical twists, and handcrafted solar lights. Each morning guests have the luxury of feasting on fresh, locally foraged ingredients. Picture homemade jams, stewed berries, local cheddar and honey from the nearby beehive.
The tent sits at the edge of a woodland clearing, which overlooks the surrounding meadows and hills of Glengariff. With your own private path, you can escape out in nature to embark on day hikes and explorations. Take a boat to Garnish Island, visit the Bamboo park or head down to nearby Eccles for a bite to eat.

Glamping at Ballyvolane House
Forget about falling in love with nature by roughing it out and forging in the forests. Rather, appreciate the beauty and magic of nature with the comforts of home.
Stay in one of their romantic two-person bell-tents that are 4-metres in size. Or book a couple of nights with the family in the 5-metre tents, that can comfortably sleep two adults and two children.
The tents are fully kitted with timber, high-raised beds fit with a comfortable eco-friendly mattress. In the country-style garden, you’ll be warm and cosy in your tent, with complimentary hot water bottles and a tea-light chandelier.
The idea of staying in one of these quaint tents isn’t to cater to yourself. Rather, enjoy being treated with 3 meals a day at the main house. And if you’re not in the mood to dine at the house, the staff are more than happy to share their local tips and the best restaurants.
