This tour was good. The guide was a bit older and slower whereas those in the tour were much younger. The match-up and chemistry just wasn’t there.

This tour was a great way to see the Acropolis but it’s not necessarily needed. If you don’t do tours very often then I would go on your own. However, if you like to know what you’re looking at, then this tour is for you. I did wish they had microphone to make it easier to hear the guide.

I was reluctant to go on a tour, but I am so glad I did! I got 1,000 times more out of my Acropolis visit than I would have otherwise. Our tour guide, Asími, was excellent. She provided historical context for everything we saw, she answered questions, and she kept us in the shade as much as possible! My son was skeptical and hot when the tour started, but by the end he was focused and listening to her every word. If you’re planning a visit to the Acropolis, do yourself a favor and take a tour. If you go on your own you’ll see some old marble columns going on a tour, you’ll be visiting history.

The evening was the right time of day to go during the month of August. We are a family of four and were a few minutes late because we got lost getting there but the tour company was kind enough to call us and wait. The tour was great too.

This was a great tour, the Acropolis was not at all crowded. Very lucky that it was overcast and breezy afternoon because this is really a uphill exercise. Also we thought this was going to be a smaller group than as it was. However the guide made sure to acknowledge and answer all questions.

Our tour guide was absolutely incredible! We were absolutely lucky and thrilled to have the tour guide all to ourselves. She was sensational! She made the tour incredibly fun. She was able to answer every question thrown her way in addition to providing additional information about the city and other sites as well. I’d absolutely recommend this tour. We know we will definitely be doing it again.

Our guide was knowledgable and enthusiastic. But he kept apologing for inserting ‘facts’. we like facts. He also needs to learn these words: And that concludes our tour today. I hope you enjoyed it.

This may have been more helpful in high tourist season. There weren’t lines. The museum is terrific we saw it after a Segway tour around the Acropolis, the day before we actually went up to the Acropolis, and I think we really understood what we were seeing. Lunch at the museum was good as well.

This is just for the museum – you’ll need to pay onsite to visit the ruins about 30 euro per person.

We went in the early afternoon, there wasn’t a line anywhere, so I’m not sure if there was a need to even purchase this. The museum was interesting and modern and a good place to get exposed to history without the hurried pace of a tour guide, if thats what you prefer.

This gorgeous museum is a must-see for anyone who visits Athens. The Skip-the-Line ticket was fantastic due to a large tour group going in ahead of us, who for some reason did arrange for tickets ahead of time. Thankfully, we did not have to stand behind them while each and every one paid individually – we would have been there half an hour or more for sure. Highly recommended

Wasted $80-90 on this. It says skip the line as if you save that much time but you don’t since you have to exchange the ticket elsewhere so the staff at Acropolis accepts it. This was not clearly written and when we were told to go to the place the departure and where to get the ticket didn’t match. Asked for a refund and of course didn’t get it. Wasted time looking for the place and wasted money. We ended up just getting the ticket from the Acropolis itself and it was hassle free and waited 5 min only. I always get my tours from viator and always have a good experience except for this one. Disappointed.

We loved seeing the Acropolis – we used skip the line – it worked out fine but when we went the line into the Acropolis was not very long so we really didn’t need the skip the line. Also I would recommend knowing what all sights you are going to see in Athens and buying a combo ticket – you would save a little money that way but give up some flexibility. If you are going in a busy season and are expecting crowds, definitely use skip the line

Perfect tour for the time we had in Athens. Easy meet spot and Nikos was a great guide providing history each step of the way. The walk up to the Acropolis seems a bit more daunting than it really is. Quite spectacular once you’re actually there and taking in such historical surroundings. Highly recommend.

The tour was wonderful and Dorina or Dorianna from Athens walking tours I hope I got that right was amazing. We were glad we took the 6pm tour as it was cooling down by that time. Stairs were a bit tough to be expected by I’m 70 and I made it. Took shoes off coming down, made it a lot easier. We had plenty of time for photos after tour. Would recommend highly

This was a standard tour. Nothing special. Our tour guide was pretty dry. She provided a lot of information, but not the most engaging delivery.

We had a very friendly guide. She was very knowledgeable about Athens. She maybe got a little wordy but it was a hot day and we needed water. Make sure to take some with you!! It’s an amazing monument.

In my opinion, if you go into the Acropolis knowing very little about Greek history, this is a must-do tour. Our tour guide i wish i remembered her name was really great. We moved at a good pace covering most of the important points at the Acropolis starting at the outside and working our way up to the top. At the end, we were given a really interesting breakdown of how often this site had changed hands over the course of history which really helped connect the dots regarding the design changes and the destruction. It was also interesting to learn about the project side of things as far as what the plans are, how long they will take, and how they are still learning things as recent as a few months ago. This isnt a long tour and moves at a good pace so I think it’s fitting even for the non-tour person out there.

Amazing! This tour takes you back in time to the ancient Athens. Our guide Athanasios was fantastic, thought-provoking and a wealth of knowledge. This is a must do in Athens, cannot recommend this highly enough. We went on the tour with a classical student and someone who had never heard of the Acropolis and both left elated with the experience.

Katerina was a great and knowledgeable tour guide! My boyfriend and I had a great time on this tour. With very little or no background knowledge on Greek mythology, Katerina explained everything as it was her own story! She kept everyone in the group intrigued with all the sights and the meaning to them. It was one of the hottest days of the year to go, but Katerina persevered through it, also allowing us to sit in some shade while conducting the tour. Tour guides can either make or break an experience, and Katerina made it wonderful. Highly recommend this tour for everyone.

Very superficial I guess it is not the guides fault. They have to address a wide range of guests with wildly differing knowledge of Greek history. They have to find a common denominator which is quite low. Accordingly the comments stayed superficial with little in-depths information. Depending on your previous knowledge about Greek history a self guided tour with the excellent guide book from the museum shop might be more satisfying.

Sympathetic Tour Guide with Greek Accent Kostas has been a most competent guide, explaining history of Athens in a well comprehensible way, with very good Englisch grammar and rich vocabulary. Sometimes we found his language slightly difficult to follow, due to his greek accent and his rather low voice. Maybe some audio aid with head phones would help? Anyways, the content has been excellent.
