Universal Studios is a theme park and one of the most famous working film studios in history. You can visit the film sets of some of your favorite films here, like The Truman Show, King Kong, and Jurassic Park! You can also go on some incredible themed rides.

The park is always busy, so in addition to a guided tour and access to sections of the studio closed to ordinary visitors, your skip-the-line tickets will allow you to experience so much more than you otherwise would, saving hours of waiting in lines!

Universal Studios VIP Tour Prices 2019

The cost of the tickets starts at about $200 to $300 USD depending on whether you’re going during on-peak or off-peak season. All VIP tours include lunch and full access to everything at Universal Studios – there’s nothing closed to you!

Compare prices across the ticket providers below:

Times

The Universal Studios VIP tickets include full-day access, so we suggest you go as soon as the studio opens! You can take your guided tour whenever you want to, and spend the rest of the day exploring the theme park’s many attractions and rides with your skip-the-line access.

Monday – Friday: 9am – 6pm
Saturday – Sunday: 8am – 10pm

Best time to go

The best time to go is definitely over the weekend during spring. The studio is open an extra five hours over the weekends, so you can pack in so much more. Spring in Los Angeles is the best time to spend outdoors, with warm, unoppressive weather, long days and smaller crowds.

VIP Universal Studio Tour

This tour is the most exclusive way to experience Universal Studios. See thousands of set pieces and decorations from your most beloved movies at their world-famous property department, and visit live sound stages, where you may even spot a film in the making!

Only included in the full VIP ticket, the studio tour is an incredible experience, suited to movie lovers and film enthusiasts, as well as everyone else! The tour can take up to six hours, though you can shorten it. This means that it is better suited to adults and older children.

Universal Studios Tour VIP Pass

Choose between the full VIP celebrity treatment, with gourmet meals and everything provided for, or a skip-the-line ticket with fewer benefits but a lower price tag!

Universal Studios Early Access and Express Ticket

This tour allows you to enter the park and go on the rides 30 minutes before official opening time, allowing you to experience what few do – a giant theme park almost all to yourself! You can then also choose to get the express ticket, which gives you skip-the-line access to attractions and rides throughout the day.

You can also get a Universal Studios VIP ticket that does not include a tour. This ticket allows you to access all the rides and attractions with a skip-the-line ticket. However, you won’t be able to see the closed-off sections of the studio or go on a guided tour.

This ticket can be better for families with small children who have more interest in the theme park than the studio!

What we liked: This ticket is great for if you want to spend more time on the rides.
INCLUDES:
  • Skip-the-queue access
  • Early entrance
  • Rides and attractions
  • Full day admission

EXCLUDES:
  • Food and drinks
  • Transport
  • Parking

Take the opportunity to explore the world’s largest film studio and theme park before the crowds come in. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one example of an attraction that gets packed as soon as people come in, so this is a great time to see it!

You can then choose whether or not you also want skip-the-line access to Universal Studios throughout the day.

Great VIP with tour guide Heather … it was absolutly fantastic! The tour, the rides, good food, free vip parking, nearly no waiting in lines (except transformers but less than 20 min). You wont be able to do the studios in one day without an vip pass!

Express ticket is really worth it. Easy redemption at the entrance and you don’t have to queue for the rides/shows. They will just scan you’re ticket and you’re in. Regular line takes upto more than 1 hour waiting time. With express ticket, we were able to take all the rides and watch all the shows/performances. Also, you shouldn’t miss the Universal Studios Tour!

If you’re Potterhead, the visit to Harry Potter Wizarding World is a must although it’s a bit small than expected. Butterbeer is amazing. The closing time is quite early compared to Disneyland, but you meet more characters for photo ops.

Skip the line ticket is a very good option to spend only one day at Universal Park. I recommend for busy days. Very easy to go to the park with the ticket online

Easy redemption. Just show the staff the code in your phone and they’ll print out the tickets at the entrance. Express ticket is a must in my opinion especially during the holiday season. Harry Potter is definitely a must see too!

VIP access to universal studios hollywood was great! We got to go behind the scene tours and even got a personal guide to explain what happens on the sets and we even got to walk on the sets but thats only possible with the VIP experience. The lunch was also great! loved it!

Totally worth getting the Express tickets, we were able to skip the lines and save a lot of time. Universal Studios has a mixture of rides and tours which makes it a great family outing for both young and old. We went with a party of 9 aging from 6 to 76 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day! The Harry Potter night show was absolutely fabulous. It was my birthday and they gave me a birthday badge, and it was so nice to have everyone greet you with a ‘Happy Birthday’!

Best ticket out there of you will visit Universal Studios Hollywood for a day. Totally worth it for low season. Got to the park at 10am, had ridden all the rides before days end. All lines (during low season, weekday) was reduced to a 5 minute wait. Breezed thru the park in no time.

Totally worth the money! We didn’t have to wait long for every ride and we finished everything in a day. Best for overseas tourists who want to finish a theme park in one day.

Skipping the line is great but we used it on a Tuesday and it wasn’t that busy anyway so maybe wasted our money, but on a busy day or the weekend this would be worth every cent!

The best day of our two week holiday, Universal Studios was the best and was well worth spending the extra money to get Front of the Line Passes. The waiting time for the Transformer ride for example was 50 minutes but with our passes we got on each ride straight away. Would definitely do this again.

Arrived when it opened, we rode some rides w/o the the pass since the lines weren’t long and use the pass on favorite rides and enjoy them again! It was nice to experience the park with our kids and their friends! We highly recommend!

Absolutely stress free. Was able to go anywhere and do anything at no extra cost. Did take the hint to go on rides with short lines and not use the SKIP feature until the lines were longer and we wanted to do some repeats. Which we did. Can’t say enough good things about this Viator experience.

This ticket is invaluable if you want to cram as much as you can into one day’s visit. You really do miss the crowds as you are ushered to the front of the queue for the rides. Picking up my ticket from the gate was easy as there are plenty of staff to help you.

Enjoyed our day at Universal , did not enjoy the Escalator ride up from lower level. I was frozen on the steps. Glad i did not have my grandchildren with me. That is pretty intense. Other then that we had a good time.

The trip and transport to Universal was GREAT! The driver of our Bus was awesome. On time and courteous, my kids thought he was funny too. We had the best time at Universal as well. Despite the crowd of people we were still able to do everything we wanted. Would defiantly do this trip again. Thank you.

Would recommend this day tour to anyone. I have used Lux Bus in the past for a longer trip, I was impressed then – and now a few years later, still impressed! My experience of this company may be limited to a handful of trips, but in my opinion, this company is a class act! Book with confidence! Our tour driver, Alex….is a gem. He was entertaining the whole way aswell as informative. Driving the LA freeways overall is not for the faint of heart yet I felt perfectly safe and at ease the duration of our trip. Thankyou Alex!

The tour was an absolutely brilliant way to get to Hollywood from Anaheim to avoid hiring a car. Universal is amazing as ever. I wouldn’t however book with Viator again. The hotel I stayed at was on the drop down menu for pick-ups for this tour, yet the day before, whilst in LA I was told I needed to make my own way to another hotel by 7:30am the following day. Not knowing the area at all, this was not ideal and I had to then pay additional fees for taxi’s. If my hotel wasn’t available for a pick up then I think it’s better for Viator to just not offer it in the first instance. The response I got from their customer services wasn’t great I have to say, which I was really surprised at. So, whilst the Lux Bus America trip is absolutely brilliant, I would advise you book via someone else.

Excellent day at universal studios. The lux bus drivers were super friendly. Did most rides during the day, single rider on Harry Potter moved the wait time from 150 minutes down to about 12 minutes for us. Overall a wonderful day.

We booked this trip for our son’s 21st and although it was expensive was well worth it. Starting off with breakfast and meeting our guide for the day and rest of group. Our guide Donna was amazing and for 7hours she guided us to the best rides and shows with no queuing. Lunch was to die for (buffet style) with so much choice. We had free time for the last 2hours of park opening to revisit rides or try new ones.

A great experience if you have already seen Universal Studios the cheaper way. We felt very special! I thought it was very expensive for a day but the park was not busy so we wouldnt have needed to line up for rides for long anyway. If you travel at peak times I feel it would be better value for money. Great breakfast and lunch. Not a lot of time to experience the rides but as we did not need to line up at all, we could ride each one at least once.

This was a great tour! We had a great tour guide and he expertly moved us around the park, held bags and made the day very enjoyable. The food was great at both breakfast and lunch. We did not realize that breakfast was going to be provided and had already eaten. We thought it was only go to be pastries and coffee. There was yogurt, oatmeal, hard cooked eggs, etc. I would recommend this as a way to go. In fact, I plan on checking into this for Florida Universal!

It was though the only way to see the Entire park in peak time in one day.-Like a true Vip Awesome in every aspect. Seen whole park including every ride more than once. The Vip experience is precisely that. We walked straight on to every ride within 5min some had waiting times of 2hrs even in front of the express and front of line pass holders. Harry Potter world was shoulder to shoulder, and we went to all attraction including wand ceremony like we were the only ones in the park. We were travelling with kids, Our youngest was apprehensive to ride on some of the scarier rides, But Cheryl our tour guide was excellent with kids and looked after children, so the parents and kids didn’t miss out on any attractions. The breakfast and lunch was 5 star. The food was unreal, and it catered to everyone taste even fussy eaters. There was Seafood, salads Meat, sushi, roast, Sweets everything. We were apprehensive at the cost initially, but with a family of 5, it was worth every cent. The only thing we bought in the 12hours we were there was Souvenirs. So if you’re considering it, Just do it will have no regrets.
