If you are touring Paris and want to see it’s most prevalent and revered monuments then the best way to do that is on an incredible Versailles Palace tour. This famed chateau makes for an unforgettable experience as you stroll through the breathtaking rooms and sprawling estate.
With the help of a handy audio guide, you can make your way through the ornate State Apartments, glimmering Hall and Mirrors and unbelievable rooms that once housed the height of French royalty. Discover the home of a succession of French kings who lived and reigned at the palace, and continued to embellish it for years.
One of the palace’s most prominent features is the spectacular Hall of Mirrors. Gilded bronze statues stand amongst crystal chandeliers and giant mirrors that reflect the light flowing in through Versailles’ high windows. The State Apartments are another firm favorite.
They include a series of prestigious rooms, each more opulent than the next, bedecked in paintings and rich in color.
The palace was dubbed the Museum of the History of France at the end of its years as a royal home. It was then devoted to housing a collection of paintings and sculptures representing prominent French characters and remarkable events.
Take your time on your tour of Versailles, including the iconic place where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, putting an end to WWI. Then, experience the French Gardens, where manicured lawns and lush groves await. You can also breathe in the aromatic scents of Versailles Orangery, which is filled with orange, lemon, palm, oleander, plum and pomegranate trees (some of which are over 200 years old).
Book your Versailles tickets for an unforgettable tour of a truly grand place, which reflects into its very own lake like an exquisite oil painting.

I had the pleasure of being part of Laura's guided tour of the Palace of Versailles. The group consisted of mostly couples and smaller family groups while I was solo. We received ear pieces and were able to skip a VERY long line into the palace. Laura was witty, well-informed and moved at a steady pace throughout the tour. She guided us through a busy Tuesday at the palace and was able to navigate us to prime locations for photos in each room, while also giving us free reign to explore. Laura answered off the cuff historical questions and managed to attract a few followers throughout the palace with her humor.

I took this tour with a colleague and it was good because we only had a few hours to spare. We took an uber from our hotel in Paris to Versailles. We got our ticket and met a guide at a separate location close to the chateau. The guide stayed with us through security check, brought us to a special entrance for groups, and gave us our audio headsets. This whole process took an hour (we picked a morning tour time). Other than that, the chateau and gardens were beautiful and worth the visit. Bring comfortable shoes and one's that you won't mind getting dirty (if you go in spring/summer time to the gardens). I would love to come back again to see the night fountain show.

I have used Viator in both Italy and France with great results. This is NOT Viator. You don’t get tickets. You have to go to a secondary location and get the tickets and they will escort you several blocks to Versailles. I rented a car in Paris and left at noon. The trip is about 37 minutes. With the traffic we arrived at 1:35. Guess what? No late comers. We went to Versailles, bought tickets and waited 30 minutes to get in. Not a big deal The last skip the line I got trough A second party never skipped the line. The guide walked us to the line everyone was in and dumped us. Won’t sign up for any tours I can’t download the tickets myself. Too bad, Viator is usually flawless.

Do not use Viator. They overcharge. It cost €20 from the official Versailles site which includes an audio guide and get you to skip the line by picking a time of entry. We thought this website was the official website of Versailles, but it is not. Their “special entrance“ they present actually takes longer to get through than just skipping in the line with your regular pass from the chateau. This is because the entry time you pick Is actually the time that you are instructed to meet up approximately half a mile from the Château at which point you are brought to the special entrance which takes 30 min anyway. It is true you should buy your tickets ahead of time, to save time, but this is not the website to do it. I feel duped is a tourist and taken advantage by this company that spends more on advertising than actually helping people. I cannot express how disappointed my family and I were with Viator. I would never recommend this company for this experience as I would never use them myself again. Lesson learned first hand unfortunately. Once we got in (45 min after arriving where the line was itself only 15 min) however the chateau was lovely and I recommend going to Versailles the correct way. I hope my review reaches at least one person and saves them just a little bit a hassle and money.
