If you are touring Paris and want to see it’s most prevalent and revered monuments then the best way to do that is on an incredible Versailles Palace tour. This famed chateau makes for an unforgettable experience as you stroll through the breathtaking rooms and sprawling estate.

With the help of a handy audio guide, you can make your way through the ornate State Apartments, glimmering Hall and Mirrors and unbelievable rooms that once housed the height of French royalty. Discover the home of a succession of French kings who lived and reigned at the palace, and continued to embellish it for years.

One of the palace’s most prominent features is the spectacular Hall of Mirrors. Gilded bronze statues stand amongst crystal chandeliers and giant mirrors that reflect the light flowing in through Versailles’ high windows. The State Apartments are another firm favorite.

They include a series of prestigious rooms, each more opulent than the next, bedecked in paintings and rich in color.

Versailles exterior

The palace was dubbed the Museum of the History of France at the end of its years as a royal home. It was then devoted to housing a collection of paintings and sculptures representing prominent French characters and remarkable events.

Take your time on your tour of Versailles, including the iconic place where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, putting an end to WWI. Then, experience the French Gardens, where manicured lawns and lush groves await. You can also breathe in the aromatic scents of Versailles Orangery, which is filled with orange, lemon, palm, oleander, plum and pomegranate trees (some of which are over 200 years old).

Book your Versailles tickets for an unforgettable tour of a truly grand place, which reflects into its very own lake like an exquisite oil painting.

The Palace was wonderful and definitely worth seeing. We were given audio guides which did give some information from room to room, but could have given a lot more information.

I was unable to meet the van/bus at either location. I had to call the tour operator to find location and then driver had already left. I ended up paying Uber drive out of pocket to drive me to Versailles. I then had to track down guide and ask for tickets. Guide told me to look for her at exit at 4pm to find van to ride back (which I had paid for) and was unable to find her so had to pay Uber again.

It was rainy and chilly, still mobs in line a mile long. A bit of a wait for "skip the line", but worth the price to skip the mile. Rain paused for gardens and fountains, so overall great experience. Note that group tour entered in the middle of the palace tour. Ask for History and Daughters. Host wasn't clear about that. Also note, fountain show starts at 15:30, not 15:00

This is not a tour. This basically consists of a bus ride and entrance. You do still have to wait in line but the line is not nearly as long as the regular line for tickets and entrance. The grounds are very large. You are given a map of the grounds and basically given no tips as to what are the best ways to utilize your time. You are on your own once you enter. There are bikes/golf carts/ trams/ canoeing in the lake available however by the time we realized this we did not have enough time to utilize. It would be impossible to see everything in the time allotted if you only walk. There are many restaurants on site. Also was not given any info on this. It would be helpful if the guides utilized the time on the bus ride over to give you information on how best to utilize your time since you only have 4 hours on the grounds. It takes you an hour to hour and half just to make it through the inside portion. The gardens will take much much longer.

    1. The address to the pickup point was wrong. It said " Etoile: 2, Avenue Foch" it should be "Etoile 8" This was a source of confusion and scrambling at the last moment. 2. There was no heads-up that bathrooms would not be available for 3 hours from the initial boarding of the bus. 3. If headphones were not to be provided the literature could have suggested that we bring ours. 4. The guide could have explained better what to expect once in the castle. I had no idea of what to do or that there were restaurants inside the castle.

We traveled with small children. We’ve been there many times. We had to wait in 4 different lines in the rain, for a total of over an hour. Then my wife got separated from us at security and our guide would not let me help her with the stroller and the kids.

The guide made this tour great!!! Very interesting. Skip the line a MUST! We saved 2.5 hours! The time at the palace and an hour in the gardens was just right.

The tour guide Manuel is very informative. It would be great if we can have at least 30 mins – 45 mins more to spend in the garden in order to be able to catch the ride back, especially if it is summer and is peak period. Even though we were given the option to stay behind and enjoy at our own pace, but we will need to manage our own ride back.

I was unable to locate my guide and even though calling and letting them know I was within 200 feet from them per the map they left without me. I then provided my own private transportation to catch up with the tour and when I found out that I was unable to re-join even though they had not yet entered a location. They will not offer a refund and I will never book with him again.

The guide spent too much time discussing the history of what is being depiicted in each painting. For one painting, at least 20 minutes had lapsed, and the group had not moved on. Several tour groups had arrived and left way before the group. As a result, we didn't have enough time to see the gardens at Versailles.

The tour was just ok. The guide was late and we had to wait for headsets and again for tickets; things best prepared ahead of time. That said, she was knowledgeable about Versailles.

My wife and I along with two couples from New York and London were at the location at least an hour ahead of the appointed time for the Versailles tour with City Wonders. The tour guide never showed up. There was also a couple there for another City Wonders tour. Their guide did not show up either. All of us called our booking agents, who then called City Wonders and were told that we were not there when the tour started. There was no question that we were in the right place to meet.

This was really great value, it was better than we expected with a full breakfast in a really beautiful restaurant overlooking Versailles and then straight to the front of the line when we were ready. It was such a lovely way to start the day. Highly recommended!

Breakfast at Ore Restaurant was superb—the menu provided for this tour was excellent and the wait staff attentive and very professional and the food and presentation were also excellent. We walked to to the ground floor of the Ore and took an elevator up to the restaurant. After a leisurely breakfast, we simply took the same elevator down and entered Versailles. The staff scanned our voucher and we were in. This was truly worth the cost and we would certainly do this again. We had been to our yours previously with a different tour group. While it was very good, we did have to stand in line at the main entrance.

Mom and I had a WONDERFUL time at Ore Restaurant. The breakfast was amazing, everything tasted great! And I bought a bottle of acacia honey to take home with me because of the breakfast here! You will not be disappointed by the menu! The day at Versailles was great. Totally shell out the $8 for the tram that takes you around to the Trianons. The walk is gorgeous, but LONG, and you'll be doing plenty of walking around inside each of the attractions! The audio guide was great, mom and I really enjoyed the commentary.

As we arrived at Versailles, we saw the very long entry line. How nice it was to walk right past it and into the building housing the restaurant. After a very nicely served breakfast, we were able to join a very short security line and then enter the palace.

Worth every penny to skip the LONG line of people waiting to buy tickets. Guide is informative and the tour is long enough that you see the key areas but not so long that you get exhausted.

Although we have visited Versailles before – self guided, it was worthwhile to have a guide this time to assist in navigating the swarms of people and some insightful and concise commentary. Audrey was great.

We only waited 10 minutes to go through security and with the guide there you're not walking around aimlessly! Highly recommended if you want to save a lot of time! And Isabelle our tour guide did a GREAT job! She made it entertaining and fun! Would definitely do over again

I had the pleasure of being part of Laura's guided tour of the Palace of Versailles. The group consisted of mostly couples and smaller family groups while I was solo. We received ear pieces and were able to skip a VERY long line into the palace. Laura was witty, well-informed and moved at a steady pace throughout the tour. She guided us through a busy Tuesday at the palace and was able to navigate us to prime locations for photos in each room, while also giving us free reign to explore. Laura answered off the cuff historical questions and managed to attract a few followers throughout the palace with her humor.

I took this tour with a colleague and it was good because we only had a few hours to spare. We took an uber from our hotel in Paris to Versailles. We got our ticket and met a guide at a separate location close to the chateau. The guide stayed with us through security check, brought us to a special entrance for groups, and gave us our audio headsets. This whole process took an hour (we picked a morning tour time). Other than that, the chateau and gardens were beautiful and worth the visit. Bring comfortable shoes and one's that you won't mind getting dirty (if you go in spring/summer time to the gardens). I would love to come back again to see the night fountain show.

I have used Viator in both Italy and France with great results. This is NOT Viator. You don’t get tickets. You have to go to a secondary location and get the tickets and they will escort you several blocks to Versailles. I rented a car in Paris and left at noon. The trip is about 37 minutes. With the traffic we arrived at 1:35. Guess what? No late comers. We went to Versailles, bought tickets and waited 30 minutes to get in. Not a big deal The last skip the line I got trough A second party never skipped the line. The guide walked us to the line everyone was in and dumped us. Won’t sign up for any tours I can’t download the tickets myself. Too bad, Viator is usually flawless.

Do not use Viator. They overcharge. It cost €20 from the official Versailles site which includes an audio guide and get you to skip the line by picking a time of entry. We thought this website was the official website of Versailles, but it is not. Their “special entrance“ they present actually takes longer to get through than just skipping in the line with your regular pass from the chateau. This is because the entry time you pick Is actually the time that you are instructed to meet up approximately half a mile from the Château at which point you are brought to the special entrance which takes 30 min anyway. It is true you should buy your tickets ahead of time, to save time, but this is not the website to do it. I feel duped is a tourist and taken advantage by this company that spends more on advertising than actually helping people. I cannot express how disappointed my family and I were with Viator. I would never recommend this company for this experience as I would never use them myself again. Lesson learned first hand unfortunately. Once we got in (45 min after arriving where the line was itself only 15 min) however the chateau was lovely and I recommend going to Versailles the correct way. I hope my review reaches at least one person and saves them just a little bit a hassle and money.

The location to meet and get your ticket was easy to find. It is on the street a block in front of Versailles. We followed our guide to a side entrance and passed hundreds of people standing in line. The process was quick and easy. Once inside, we were given our audio guides and left on our own. This was the best way to see Versailles.

Skip the line was worth not having to wait and we definitely got through the process faster than not booking. However, it still took us way too long to get in due to lack of organization by the tour company. Guide herself was very nice. We booked for 11, was told to be there at 10:45, didn't leave the tour office until 11:20-11:30. Wasn't inside the palace until 12:30. Tour company had to buy tickets when we got there. Tour company gave half the group audio guide devices before they left the office and not the other half and had to wait longer for those. Conclusion: find a different company to help you skip the line.

Our guide as well as the staff at the museum purposely hid the fact that 3 out of 5 wings of the museum were closed and also that the amazing fountains that the gardens are known for only run on the weekends. I wouldn't have gone knowing this. We spent a lot of time and money to get there and then we're left with barely any of the content we came to see.

The experience all in all is fine. When we got there, there was a very long queue and it was raining but the line is moving so it’s okay. Going inside, we were amazed with how huge the place was. Apart from the palace itself, there was a massive garden with a very big fountain. Though we weren’t able to enjoy the garden that much because of the rain, the palace gave us an amazing experience. There were a lot of paintings dating back to 1700 and it was very surreal to have seen it in person.

Chateau Versailles is awesome, opulent and lavish! Although we had tickets from Klook, we still had to queue for the security check but it was fast though. We spent almost half day here. It’s huge! Recommend having lunch at Angelina Restaurant. Menu is great and desserts are decadent! Try the hot chocolate. Tip: if you want to explore the gardens, get the cart, pricey but worth it

It was awesome! The operator, Paris Vision was even generous enough to provide us free transport back to our hotel on a limousine! The tour guide was friendly, and very knowledgable. Klook is just great.. I mean made so much sense to buy through klook always with such great prices. there was a line outside Versailles of people queuing during the hot summer just to get a ticket. The instructions on where to get the ticket and meet up was clear. I enjoyed using the audio guide and clicking according to the numbers based on the rooms we visited. Very informative and allowed us to roam at our own speed. Versailles is a huge beautiful castle that you certainly shouldn’t miss out!

Wonderful experience. Make sure to read instruction and go to the office instead of the palace. You must check in at the office that is two stores down McDonalds that is front of the train station. We got the skip the line pass along with the audio guide for the palace with the gardens in Klook but you can talk to the ladies in reception to add 1 euro per person to get tickets to mariantoianettes estate or pay 6 euros per person to get mariantoianettes estate + audio guides for everything (garden, MAs estate, and palace). The Klook option only has palace audio guide option (no audio guide for garden). We added the second option and it was the best thing we did. You pay 20 euro deposit per person for audio guide but you get money back as you return the device to the office before 6:30. I highly recommend you to do that if you have more time to spend in Paris. If you dont have time, just stick to original Klook option!

You pay 20 euro deposit per person for audio guide but you get money back as you return the device to the office before 6:30. I highly recommend you to do that if you have more time to spend in Paris. If you dont have time, just stick to original Klook option!

Met up with the guide at the meeting point. At first my name wasn’t it the booking list. After checking with the tour company they updated the mssing name so i can join the tour. this is my first time touring with guide and i’m really impressed. this tour took about 1.5-2hrs.

4.5/5 rating for me. WHAT I LOVED: Our guide Philippe knows so much about the French monarchy. Interesting topics and tidbits, and good storytelling. The use of a mic for the tour guide, and headphones for each tour participant so we all hear what the guide has to say because some tour participants just hogs and always wants to be in front. Skip the line — we went straight to an entrance different from the crowd lining up under the hot sun, snaking around what looked like 2 hours of queue. Waited maybe 5mins to get in as there were other skip the line groups. WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED: Instead of saying arrive 15mins before tour start time, maybe you can put meet up time and “strict” departure time. This way we don’t wait for too long. Plus, tour didn’t leave until 10-15mins later than the scheduled start time. Got transferred to another group without being advised.

We are scheduled to visit the versailles by 10 am. However, due to the trains interuption, we came late and arrived at 11am on the meeting place at guideatours. The staff still accomodated us and allowed us to still join the other guided tours. The skip the line is very convenient as we’re able to enter the palace for less than an hour.

Easy to find and short walk. Ruben was a great guide and was very informative and funny. Loved the palace and garden(9€separate at office). Worth it.

Totally love the tour around the palace of Versailles. Honestly I feel that the best experience in the shortest time is always to get a tour guide to bring you around. The place is huge and there were so many things to see that we would not know where to start and which are must see without a guide. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we totally enjoyed her stories while she brought us around the main areas. Thank you very much for the lovely experience in Paris!

It was so crowded on the day we went to Versailles but we were guided well throughout the tour by a professional tour guide. Important parts within the palace was well covered and explained during the tour.

We had a very very pleasant tour: Valerie was our guide. She made everything easy and pleasant. No waiting anywhere, no lines, very efficient. Valerie gave us all very interesting information all along, she was funny and very knowledgeable. She answered questions and was attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this way to visit Versailles!

Due to train disruptions, we missed our guide at the meeting point however the company dealt with it with efficiency and they were super helpful. Our guide, Audrey, was amazing, smart, kooky and funny. Definitely recommend booking a tour. Beat the queue saved us about a 2.5 hour wait and that was in late October! Amazing experience
