Paola was a knowledgeable and pleasant guide. While exploring the museum, I also learned much about the paintings and history of Amsterdam. One of the best guides I've had in the man cities I've visited.

Informative, enthusiastic, entertaining. Rolf was well prepared on every facet of Van Gogh’s life and art. What a pleasure having such a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We felt we were privileged to gain such insight into the artist’s life and work. Can’t imagine a better tour guide.

Good but not enough Ilaria was terrific! She like what she does and it shows. The problem I see is that as you have only to hours you don’t get to see everything. And that for me is the point of this particular museum.

Didn't use museum voucher, was concerned where and how to convert to ticket, so went online after contacting your site and bought timed entry ticket direct from VanGogh Museum. Did enjoy cruise when I discovered we could change the voucher and board right across the street from our hotel at Museumplein location.

V Gogh museum was ok. Interesting to see the paintings that inspired him. Canal trip was a disappointment. Extremely hot under the glass roof of the boat – and a recorded commentary was somewhat sterile.

We are not artsy people but do not miss this museum! Get the headsets. You will have a choice to do a fast tour. We were short on time and saw the entire museum in an hour. Learned a lot and really enjoyed the experience. Our entry time was 9:15 but they let you enter with the 9am group. Go EARLY…

This is a great museum with not only works of Van Gogh, but other artists of his time as well. I chose to visit the Museum on a Sunday. I bought my voucher on Viator, but I still had to wait in two queue’s to get into the museum. This place is very busy, so plan to visit early in the morning if possible. It is for sure worth the 25 for the ticket. The gift shop is also very good if not a bit pricey.

The day spent with Giuseppina was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and spoke from a passion for art. I feel so much smarter and her good humor and beautiful smile were say to like. I feel so fortunate to have booked this tour with her. Cannot imagine how any part of it could be improved.

Touring these two museums are a must if you are visiting Amsterdam. It’s easy as they are neighbors to each other. But what these tours so outstanding was Victoria, our guide. Request her, please.

We met Angelo in front of the Rijksmuseum along with the six other guests for our tour. He was very knowledgeable about the paintings, painters and the related biographies and history. Angelo was very attentive to us and was able to answer all of our many questions. He maintained a high level of enthusiasm throughout the five hours we spent with him.

Professionally dressed Guide who worked for Babylon Tours arrived well before we did for 10 am tour Thursday, July 12, 2018 Easy to find location listed from aviator. She was prompt, personable and very knowledgeable. Bring your own lunch and water to drink @ lunch break. Key rental Lockers on ground floor near toilets very handy. Interesting time well spent. Definitely recommend for first timers for the small group.

The tour was excellent. The tour guide was Anita, an art historian. Although she chose the paintings to talk about she was thorough with the art history and brought fresh perspectives to the paintings.

Victoria was our guide, and she definitely knows the subjects well. The tour for started a little late, but once we were going it was great. I didn’t realize we would stop for lunch, and I was very grateful that we did because it would be too much to do all in a row. Victoria was great to get us to move close into the paintings, and the. We would look from a distance to see how the art changed. She helped us see clues that we would have otherwise missed and set the scene for the culture at the time that changes how you view the art. She did a masterful job of telling the story of Van Gogh’a work and life. She also didn’t make us feel badly when we were ready to go at the end of the tour instead now of going to see the special exhibit. We were exhausted and had been traveling for a while at this point and our feet needed a rest! Great tour. If I had time, I might do the tours on different days but this was also an efficient way to get through it. Thanks Victoria!

We had only booked a semi private tour as we hadn’t realised booking a normal ticket had to be done well in advance. Wow, it was definitely worth the money. Victoria our guide was amazing and so passionate about Vincent Van Gogh. She really brought the painter to life and in turn his paintings. We learnt so much and nothing was rushed. We could have asked questions but didn’t need to as her information was so full and she covered everything. I would definitely recommend Viator tours as we have also had ones in Rome which again were very informative. The people who are employed to do these tours obviously love their job as they have a font of information on their particular subject. Once again, we would like to thank Victoria for a wonderful afternoon at the Van Gogh Museum!!

The “Private” tour changed to “Simi Private” once the time came for the event. It was still a great tour of the museum, the guide was excellent. I think there were six or seven in our final group. I was just by my self for this visit.

I originally bought tickets for the tour because the online tickets from the museum were sold out. I’m so glad I was “forced” to get this tour. Our guide, Victoria, was really excellent. She was informative and clearly loved describing van Gogh’s work. So pleased to take this tour with Victoria.

The private, guided tour of the Van Gogh museum was awesome! The museum is great and our guide (Ilaria) was absolutely wonderful! She guided us skillfully through the museum for 2.5 hours and made sure we learned as much as possible about Van Gogh, his paintings and his life. Highly recommend this tour!

We thank Babylon Tours’ chief, Tom Dolan, for assigning Victoria to our family. She is an incredible, electrifying guide- truly knowledgable and passionate about Art, especially about Van Gogh. Throughout the several hours we spent with her, pouring over most of the significant art works at the very well laid out and organized museum, she systematically brought to life the tortured soul that was Van Gogh. Victoria made us see how much of Van Gogh’s emotions, experiences and madness is reflected in his work, she also showed us works of other great painters who influenced him. Victoria had an in depth knowledge of his family, friends and acquaintances. She knew of his complex relationships with almost everyone. She also told us in detail about Van Gogh’s tragic demise and the mystery surrounding it. Everytime she would bring us towards a masterpiece she would allow us my husband and I and our young daughters time to analyse it, before giving her expert opinion about it. The Van Gogh Museum, the brain child of the late painter’s nephew, is in itself a marvel- every floor one ascends takes one into one part of the artist’s mind and to one stage of his life. By the time we reached the top level, we felt we were looking at everything through his tortured eyes. The Museum shop too has merchandise that is worth purchasing, catering to all age groups and budgets. Touring the Van Gogh Museum on your own is possible, but it’s a whole different experience having a spectacular guide bring the artist, his life and masterpieces alive for you.
