Best Time to Go on a Wild Safari, Florida
The best time to go on a Wild Florida safari depends on what you want to see. The Everglades in Florida has two distinct seasons: the wet season between May and November and the dry season between December and April.
During the wet season, you will be able to see the alligators hatching and nesting. During the dry season, many of America’s birdlife migrate to Florida to escape the cold. Seasons aside, it’s best to go on a drive thru safari between Monday and Thursday, as Friday and Saturday tend to be very busy and can get overcrowded.
Things to See on a Florida Wildlife Safari
There are over 150 magnificent animal species you can see during your Wild Florida safari, but here are the five that you simply have to keep an eye out for.
- Bison – The Bison is one of America’s largest and most impressive creatures. Their hunched figure and massive size are something you can only understand from up close.
- Eland – The eland is notorious for being able to survive in extreme conditions, from harsh deserts to thriving forests. The males are particularly impressive, with beautiful coats and pointy horns.
- Giraffe – The giraffe is possibly one of the most unique creatures of Africa, with a long physique and gorgeous patterning that you can’t miss. These gentle giants are one of the main attractions at Wild Florida.
- Mouflon sheep – One of the original ancestors of the modern-day sheep, the Mouflon is well known for its incredible ability to walk on sheer cliffs.
- Zebra – It’s hard to say where these majestic animals got their coats from, but one thing is for sure, they are beautiful. The white and black striped creatures graze the grasslands of Wild Florida freely and aren’t hard to spot.

Excellent adventure for a reasonable cost. All three of us enjoyed the drive. Watch out for the emu, it will eat your car!!!

An emu walked right up to our car and we were able to see it clearly. We also saw 2 gazelles fighting in front of us. It seemed more like a playful fight. Such beautiful animals all around. Road was wide enough for cars to pass each other. Loved the gator park. The gator pavilion saved us from the heat. Worth the money for the 2 attractions.
