Step into 19th-century Buenos Aires by watching a classic tango live show. Argentine tango offers you an experience of old tales being told through complex dance moves with flamenco and milonga influence. Scenes typically boast of male characters subtly cueing a sequence of steps to a female love interest, almost telepathically.
Today, tango shows in Buenos Aires boast Broadway-like visual effects and take place in classic venues like elegant halls like La Catedral del Tango and historic theaters. These high-scale productions pay tribute to renowned composers like Astor Piazzolla and feature professional performers and choreographers.
Like Mora Godoy, a resident choreographer at Tango Porteña, who famously danced with President Barack Obama during his 2016 visit to Argentina.
Tango shows are a Buenos Aires nightlife affair. Typically starting later than 9pm, tango shows take about two to three hours, including hotel pick-ups and add-ons like skip-the-line tickets, private transfers, and optional dinners.

GetYourGuide traveler –
This traditional theater of the tango show is the perfect size to be intimate, not too big, but not small. We didn’t add drinks and dinner, but ordered a glass of wine at the show separately. The performance was very professional, highlighted each performer, and used the stage well. It’s a must-do when visiting Buenos Aires.

we were supposed to be picked up 19:30 from our hotel, so we were outside 19:24, and waiting for the pickup, after waiting for a while, and trying to call many times the emergency helpline, we finally got through to be told 5 minutes (in other terms: 30 minutes), and 1 hour after (feeling pretty silly), we finally got picked up by an empty van, they also pick you up only from the centre, and not Palermo soho. the dinner was mediocre, no way worth 60$. In other words, do yourself favour and skip the dinner+pickup offer (take Cabify, it is going to be cheap and works well). The show started at 10PM. Now the good parts, we were seated in the front, it was small crowd, and the show was very good (interesting dancing, gauchos, bolero, singing, etc)! No english anywhere though, so you are in the dark guessing about the show.
