Best Time to Go
Since it’s open to the public for such a short time, Keukenhof opening hours are always busy. This, however, is not a problem due to its massive size. It just means you’ll want those skip-the-line tickets so that you don’t have to stand in lines half the day.
If you want to avoid the crowds, visit Keukenhof when it opens, or in the late afternoon. Watching the sunset over the tulips is also a breathtaking sight! We also recommend you go on a weekday, as weekends are significantly busier.

Very good trip. Maybe not the best time for us to visit as was a cold and a rainy day. They do have indoors pavilions where they have so many amazing displays, so you can stay dry, away of the rain and take your time exploring . Would be really worth it to visit maybe at the end of April , beginning of May. We had a good time , enjoying the beautiful gardens despite the rain. I think it worth checking the weather before you book the tickets so you can enjoy the beauty of the place.

Convenient trip for us, as we were staying at a Hotel couple of blocks away from the bus rendezvous point in The Hague. 10 minute walk Tour guide was very informative on the way to Keukenhof, the garden itself was spectacular, all sorts of vibrant colors. It was a very nice day, well worth it. Hope they have more tours from The Hague to Amsterdam and surrounding attractions, although it's relatively easy to take the train from The Hague to Amsterdam which is fun also, unless you have to that every day as a commuter.

The Gardens are gorgeous and it was well worth a visit! The bus driver and tour guide, Harold, made the process of getting to the gardens easy. I don't think it was clear from the description that we only had 2 1/2 hours to visit the gardens. The tour is advertised as being 7 hours, but I believe it is 7 hours from absolute beginning to end. Our bus was half full with visitors who were picked up in Rotterdam when it picked us up in The Hague around 11am. By the time we got to the gardens at 12:00 we were told to be back at the bus at 2:15 for departure back to The Hague and Rotterdam. In 2 1/2 hours we were not able to see all that we wanted, so we decided to take local transportation back to The Hague which was a little difficult to figure out, but it was well worth the extra time in the gardens. We called the tour company to cancel our ride back to The Hague, and that was easy to do. The woman on the phone assured us that she would let Harold know. I just wish the description was more specific about the time actually spent in the gardens. If I would have know it was only 2 1/2 hours, I would have figured transportation out ahead of time which was cheaper. Since the length of the tour was listed as 7 hours, I assumed we had about 5 hours at the gardens. The tour information gives no hint about the 7 hours being from Rotterdam pick up until Rotterdam drop off. Just wish that would have been more clear by the description.
