The Guinness Storehouse is located at the St James Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland.

It is estimated that the Storehouse has received over 4 million visitors since first opening in 2000 and has become a prominent feature on Dublin’s tourism landscape. A new wing was opened in 2006 which includes a live demonstration of the modern brewing process.

The tour takes you through 7 levels of the building, which are designed around an atrium shaped in the form of a Guinness glass.

The entire building explains the history of beer through various multimedia exhibitions which illustrate the ingredients, production, storage, transportation, and marketing surrounding Guinness.

Arthur Guinness signed a 9000-year lease when he first began making Guinness at the brewery and a copy of this document is available for viewing at the bottom of the glass atrium.

You will also be treated to several bars throughout the tour. The Perfect Pint bar allows you to pour your own Guinness pint, and as a bonus, give you the opportunity to have your selfie placed on top of the pint.

guinness-beer

The fifth floor introduces visitors to the Brewery Bar where one can enjoy authentic Irish cuisine and refreshments. The meals served in this bar are prepared by using Guinness as part of the ingredients and as a pairing with the food.

You can also find the Guinness Archive on your tour, where visitors can view records dating back all the way to 1759. There are photographs, videos, maps, posters and other items that document the history of Guinness in Ireland and the world.

The tour ends on the 7th floor where you will find the Gravity Bar, a 360-degree bar with a glass lining that allows you to view the entire Dublin from the best view in town.

Bypass all the queues and make use of the Guinness Skip the Line ticket and enjoy the freedom to explore at your own time. It also helps add some more hours to your travel schedule by not having to wait in long lines!

There is a lot to see as you walk through this facility. Very educational about beer in general as well as Guinness. The Guinness at the end was definitely the payoff for walking up to the lounge with a view of Dublin.

This was such an awesome experience. The history of Jameson was presented in 3D, very interactive presentation. I actually learned a lot, which made the tasting that much more great.

Skipping the line at Guinness is fantastic. Be aware that this is not a working brewery tour. It is an exhibit of how Guinness is made and some of its history. There is a small tasting and then a full pint in the Gravity Bar. The view up there is great!

What a waste of money. I never got my gift box, and the agent was helping other people who did not have the special pass. Totally ridiculous price for so little! Most expensive glass of Guinness I ever had. I would not recommend it. The lady could not have been ruder at the gate!

MUST SEE! Pay the little extra at the gift shop to have your glass engraved. Gravity Bar is phenomenal but seating is limited.

A great tour to take. Lots of tasting of Guiness and it made me a fan of the beer. The tour host was extremely knowledgeable and this tour is definitely worth the money. No waiting and a small private affair.

This was a great and fun experience. We were all seated around a oblong bar, the Connoisseur standing mostly in the middle with draught taps on either side, and we sampled 4 different types of Guinness before pouring our own pint behind the bar. We then received a certificate to commemorate our crafting of the Perfect Pint of Guinness, and proceeded upstairs to the panoramic Gravity bar. The bar was quite full of people, and was a bit loud, so be aware that you may end up scrunched against other people – but if you do not have anxiety about groups of people, the bar is quite enjoyable and the view over the city is great with text on the windows telling you what you are looking at.

The Connoisseur Tour was amazing! We did it on New Years Eve. It was private and exclusive. I think there were 16 of us total. We skipped all of the lines and were treated in a priority manner. Our bar guide was amazing and we were able to try several types of Guinness. I think in all, we calculated we drank 4-5 pints of Guinness. There was mention of a gift in the description, and other reviews stated they received a bottle of Guinness to take with them, but other than a certificate, we did not receive any other gift or take away.

What a great way to spend a few hours. Beautiful private bar for sampling the Guinness range with knowledgeable host. Only 4 people on tour so nice and relaxed. Then had another pint in impressive, if crowded, Gravity Bar. Fantastic views from 7th floor. There is a fair amount of alcohol drunk so beware : Had a great lunch at 1837 and then spent another hour looking around Storehouse and buying some gifts

This was one of the best experiences if you enjoy beer. Stewart was very knowledgeable and fun. The venue is in a small lovely pub within the Guinness factory. All the tastes were half pints, very generous, and at the end you poured your own pint. You could even attempt to make a shamrock in the foam. Well worth the cost and time.

We were glad we paid the extra money for the Connoisseurs Experience. Well worth it. The groups for this are small…..no more than about 14-16. The young man who guided us through this was very knowledgeable and he made it fun! Go for it…..you won Be disappointed.

The only way to see the Guinness Storehouse. Our guide Alan was knowledgeable, funny, and overall a joy to listen to! He provided great insight about all the different Guinness beers and we were able to taste beers we weren’t previously aware of Foreign Extra Stout while also understanding the details of how they differ from other beers. The well-appointed, wooden library bar is a beautiful, quiet space away from the fray. A not to be missed Dublin attraction!

Skip the line ticket… Tour is a little bit too long in my opinion…. Unless you are into every bit details how the beer is made, you can skip ahead some of the details and enjoy the view on top of the building…

Well worth the money, especially for beer lovers. My teens were extremely bored, so I don’t know how much of a family thing it is, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed himself. For the price, he got to attend a perfect pour class, enjoy a small sample, as well as a full sized pint, and go behind the scenes of where the magic happens. The gravity bar was VERY crowded, but has a lovely view. The lifts are insanely small, and you can’t take a glass on the escalator, so we ended up going down 7 flights of stairs after waiting almost 20 minutes and still not getting a lift with room for us. I think the ticket should be cheaper for those who don’t wish to partake in beer drinking some of us are beer lovers… some of us married beer lovers. There is a lot to learn about how the process takes place, and this history of Mr. Guinness, though.

I did this tour like 15 years ago and you actually got to walk through the brewery, see how beer is made. Now it’s just a lot of weird video installations of things like harvesting barley and water running from the mountains- I don’t even think there was video of beer being made! The only time you see any beer is at the end when you get your pint in the overcrowded and club-like atmosphere of the Gravity Bar. The views were lovely 360 degrees of Dublin but so crowded and loud you can’t really enjoy. Honestly? for the money, I’d definitely skip this, watch the YouTube video online and spend the money on the PERFECT pour of Guinness at Mulligans on Poolbeg street- you won’t regret it and you can get Guinness souvenirs absolutely everywhere.

Buying skip the line tickets was the best decision we made during our trip. Definitely recommend and worth the money!

If you’re traveling to Dublin and intend to tour the Guinness Storehouse, this is the way to do it. It was great being able to walk right past the queue, present the voucher and start the tour.
