My sister and me booked this flight before our trip to Cape Town. We were asked to provide a couple of dates we were available in case the flight had to be postponed due to weather. Our flight was moved to our second available date, which was fine. We were picked up from our accommodation and whisked to the launch site in a very comfortable minibus. It took about 50 mins from the center of the city. On arrival, we had a coffee and biscuits. We then watched the pilot Conrad, and staff prepare the balloon. It was fascinating seeing how the balloon, basket and gas all come together. There were about 15 guests. We each climbed into the basket (you need to wear jeans/trousers and trainers) and very soon were airborne. It was so quiet apart form the occasional burst of gas to keep the balloon inflated. It was chilly first thing in the morning so we wore jackets. But it soon warmed up. We were taken over the wine lands as the sun rose into the sky and it was magical. We were airborne for about an hour. It felt longer. Conrad our pilot was fantastic, pointing out local landmarks and answering a barrage of questions. We felt completely safe in his expert hands. After we landed, we helped to fold the balloon ready for packing away. It was a hoot as we all grappled with the billowing fabric. Then it was time for champagne! To top off our experience we were taken to Joostenburg Gardens for breakfast which was lovely. This was a once in a lifetime experience for us and it was very well worth the money. We would highly recommend it.

The hot air balloon ride and experience overall is amazing. Beware of the transport that is not included. No estimate was provided on how much the transportation would be. And then was expected to pay 25% more than an uber or a taxi. Would be better to find alternative transportation.
