Durban Boat Cruise Specials

There are a number of sensational cruises on offer that range from in-harbour boat rides to more adventurous trips out to sea.

Take a problem-free Sunset Sea Cruise with Hakuna Matata Charters. They offer two luxury catamarans (My Girl and My Girl Too), which launch off Durban Marina (off the Victoria Embankment). The cruise sets sail at 17h00 and takes you on a 90-minute experience through the harbour channel and out to sea. Does that sound amazing? Yes it does.

For a breathtaking Durban Harbour cruise, Boat Hire by the Sea offers private cruises along Durban’s beachfront and through the harbour. While Durban Harbour is one of the busiest ports in Africa, it is remarkably peaceful. Watch the sun set against rippling waves as you dine on gourmet snack platters (yes please!) and an array of wines.

Catamaran sailing

Boat Hire’s Catamaran Cruiser has top-shelf facilities including a comfortable lounge, open decks at the front and back of the vessel, and an excellent sound system to keep your evening at full volume.

For a luxury experience, Madevu Executive Charters offers a personal sunset tour of Durban’s beautiful coastline. Madevu can host up to 45 people and boasts an upper-deck area, a lounge and facilities for a more intimate dinner setting.

While on your Durban Harbour cruise, take in the sight of the harbour, pass the quiet conservation area of mangrove swamps, and cruise along the Maydon Channel.

Sunset on the water

Sitting on a cool deck with the sun hanging low in the sky, and the water breaking at the bow – taking a cruise in Durban Harbour checks all the boxes.

Myself and my daughter arrived and were met by friendly staff who quickly processed our passes and we were kindly asked to wait 15 minutes. Benny was our pilot and he guided us safely out of the port into open seas. He was a great pilot constantly telling us interesting facts about the KZN area, marine life and Durban. After around 20 minutes we spotted a whale and her calf and followed them for a long while. Took some great pics and enjoyed tearing through the swells. I highly recommend this activity and suggest the best times for whale watching is Aug through to end of Oct. Cheers Al and Olivia from the UK

Déçu Le pilote était très gentils mais nous avons vu les baleines de très loin et uniquement les queues de baleines ( je pense que durban n'est pas le lieu idéal pour voir les baleine)
